ME/CFS and Chronic Fatigue

Treatment Based on Medical Expertise and Personal Experience

Personal experience

I know ME/CFS not only as a doctor

My name is Dr. Benjamin Dreyfuss, I am a general practitioner who personally suffered from ME/CFS.

For several years, the illness significantly affected my daily life. Through extensive research into different treatment approaches I was eventually able to completely overcome my symptoms and regain my full health and physical capacity.

This is why I have a particularly strong personal commitment to helping people suffering from ME/CFS. I understand this illness not only from a medical perspective, but also from the experience of having lived through it myself.

Symptoms

I know firsthand what it feels like

I know firsthand what it feels like to experience the wide range of symptoms associated with this condition – and particularly post-exertional malaise (PEM), the often delayed worsening of symptoms following physical or mental exertion.

I know what it feels like to be bedridden, to struggle with even the simplest everyday activities, and to reach a point where you begin to lose hope of ever getting better.

Typical symptoms of ME/CFS
  • Muscle pain (myalgia)
  • Profound fatigue
  • Muscle weakness
  • Difficulty concentrating and memory problems (brain fog)
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Orthostatic intolerance
  • Nausea
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Sensitivity to noise
  • Post-exertional malaise (PEM) – delayed worsening after exertion
My approach

Combining personal experience with medical knowledge

Today, I want to combine my personal experience with my medical knowledge to support patients suffering from ME/CFS, chronic fatigue, and persistent physical symptoms.

I have a particular interest in helping patients with longstanding symptoms, including those who have not responded to previous treatments.

My approach combines a thorough medical assessment with individually tailored therapeutic strategies.

My goal is to work closely with my patients to explore treatment options and offer a renewed sense of hope and the possibility of improvement, even in complex and challenging cases.
